Matthew 16: “Who do YOU say that I am?

No matter who we are, no matter our station in life, we, like Peter, are confronted with the question of Christ, “Who do you say that I am?”  Our values, our lifestyle, our choices - all hinge on how we answer this age old question.

We may or may not have been raised in a faith tradition, but whatever the case may be, we cannot rest on the faith of our grandparents or those who came before us.

So is Jesus simply a pleasant guy we sing about in church, a teacher of morals, or a story we heard about one time that we think is a nice fairy tale or is Jesus the only begotten son of the living God, the Deliver, our Savior, the Messiah, our Lord and Redeemer?

We answer Jesus in our heart of hearts; a holy conversation we have with him, when we admit and acknowledge our shortcomings or sins, and we accept his love, forgiveness, and call on our life.

This relationship becomes the empowering fuel for a life transformed, in which we walk the talk of Jesus Christ in our day to day lives, seeking to serve God and our neighbor, seeking to bear fruit for the kingdom of God.

Jesus still asks today “Who do you say that I am?"

Blessings!!
