This Little Light of Mine, I’m Gonna Let it Shine!
Matthew 5:14-15 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine!”
There is a vitamin commercial that says the human eye is amazing “Even at a distance of 10 miles, the length of 146 football fields, they can see the light of a single candle.” Remarkable how far a little light can be seen in the darkness isn’t it?
We live in a world where there is still much darkness that surrounds people. They long to find a way out of the darkness. We are called to shine our light that others may see. We can each, with the help of God, muster up at least one candle’s worth of light, and when we do others will find their way out of darkness.
We are about to begin a wonderful journey together and I look forward to working in ministry with you as we shine the light of Christ that others might find their way out of the darkness.
